After Baby: Sip and See

Two months ago, my dear friend had a baby girl named Aline. Due to some tragic circumstances that you can read about here...she never had a baby shower. Not for this baby nor her two babies prior.
This was not okay with me.

So with the help of my co-workers (special shout out to our intern Jessica because she rocks and was a tremendous help setting up) and Dorine's sister Rochelle (who is the most amazing event planner and caterer in Sacramento), we threw her a baby shower.  It was a southern-themed open house party after the baby's arrival called a Sip and See. A few of Dorine's closest industry friends were invited to come by our office to sip champagne, eat some appetizers and see the new baby.

The event colors were purple and butter cream.
Take a look at the mouthwatering menu that Rochelle put together.

Pear & Gorgonzola Tartlets
Bacon Stuffed Mushrooms
Jalapeño Artichoke Dip (with sliced sourdough baguette)
Mini Strawberry Triffles

The event turned out lovely and hopefully made our friend feel very special.

baby aline was not feelin' the paparazzi

Hope you're having a great weekend.
Today, I'm guest posting over here on Jenna's blog.

You are amazing. Most women in your position avoid baby showers... And here you are hosting the most beautiful one of all. You are inspirational!

That's so sweet of you to throw her a baby shower, and your friend looks amazing after just having a baby. P.S. that menu sounds so delicious.

What a great idea! We adopted our baby girl and didn't know we were chosen by her birthparents until she was being born so we never had a traditional baby shower, either!

I wanted to stop by and thank you for linking up with the "Almost Friday" blog hop! I entered your giveaway and I'm your newest follower!

I hope you'll come back and link up again next week!

Love this idea! If I ever get to become pregnant I think this is the kind of shower I would like. Especially because I will be afraid the baby would die and wouldn't want baby items in my house if it happened before due date time. So sad what infertility and recurrent pregnancy loss robs you of.

Found your blog through the ornament swap! Excited to participate this year. This is a really sweet thing you did. It must be really hard sometimes to celebrate others' babies when you are struggling with infertility. I remember a few years ago when one of my BEST friends was having a gender-reveal party. I had had a miscarriage the week before and could not bring myself to attend. I truly WAS so happy for them. I just didn't want to bawl all over the pink or blue cake. Prayers to you and your husband on your journey. God doesn't plant desires in your heart and not fulfill them...
